Demand Has Never Been Higher

Our Pittsburgh campus received a record number of first-year applications—nearly 65,000—for fall 2025 and saw undergraduate enrollment grow from 20,418 to 21,406. The University also had record applications to our graduate and professional programs for fall 2025. Enrollment in master’s and professional programs (excluding PhD) rose 6.4% from 6,676 in fall 2024 to 7,103 in fall 2025.

Record Grad Rates

According to the latest publicly available data, our four- and six-year graduation rates for the fall 2017 cohort of 71% and 84%, respectively, are record highs and place Pitt in the top 12% for public universities ranked in U.S. News & World Report’s Best National University Rankings.

Launched Top-Ranked Programs That Meet Workforce Needs

Our online, hybrid and continuing education center Pitt EDGE is piloting two programs in fall 2025—Bradford RN-BSN and Continuous Glucose Monitors Training Program—and is planning to launch three pillar programs in fall 2026: MSN Nurse Practitioner, MS Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health, and MS Management.

Plan for Pitt 2028 Graduation Success Rate target (94%) for 2028 ahead of schedule

We were one of only three NCAA Division I institutions—alongside Indiana University and the University of Michigan—to boast winning records in football, men’s basketball, men’s soccer, wrestling and baseball during the 2024-25 season.

A record 15 athletic programs posted single-year 1000 Academic Progress Report scores.

Last year, with the support of our Office of National Scholarships, students and alumni earned 53 nationally competitive awards, including our 14th Truman Scholar, sixth Beinecke, third Churchill Kanders and first Luce.
