Senate Council

Senate Council—a subgroup of the University Senate—is an official University body for shared governance. It makes recommendations concerning educational policies and other matters of University‑wide concern. The council fosters discussions and maintains communication channels among students, staff, faculty, administrative officers, and the Board of Trustees on all matters affecting the welfare of the University and its constituent members.

The chancellor is a voting member and can appoint up to eight other administrators to serve on the council.
