A Message From Chancellor Gabel

Dear Pitt community,

Last Friday, I presented to our Board of Trustees the University’s 2024-25 annual report, which highlights progress that we’ve made over the past year using the pillars of the Plan for Pitt 2028. This report includes so much for us to be proud of, including record applications, graduation rates, research and beyond. We include many of our accolades, including how we’ve been recognized as a good investment, great place to work, and trusted neighbor. As you review these pages, I hope that you see yourself and your contributions and impact reflected here. In addition, please find our Plan for Pitt 2028 moonshots, which have benefited greatly from feedback across our community over the past year. It’s in that spirit that I want to extend my sincere appreciation to you and to every member of the Pitt community. Even during a challenging time for higher education, we’ve endured and thrived. And given our momentum and resiliency, I look forward to all that we’ll accomplish together in the year ahead.

In the meantime, I’m pleased to share with you that our next town hall webinar will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 22, when we’ll discuss the annual report, other relevant updates, and any topics or questions posed by the community. We’ll send instructions for registering early next week, along with a link to submit questions to inform the conversation.

Many thanks again and Hail to Possible and Hail to Pitt!

Joan Gabel
