Dear Chancellor…

In 2017, the University of Pittsburgh set out on a mission to make commencement more personal—and memorable—for our graduates and their family members. Big changes included hosting separate ceremonies for graduates and undergraduates and announcing the name of every student in attendance.

After the confetti cleared, the feedback flooded in—and it was overwhelmingly positive. Here are five top compliments that our community shared in the wake of commencement weekend:

  1. “Graduation was awesome…It was nice to hear my son’s name after 4 years of hard work.”

  2. “Chancellor Gallagher told me he liked my cap decoration. I think I have won graduation. #PittGrad #h2p.”
